CBS News’ Lara Logan Raped During Egypt Protests

Terrible news. CBS doesn’t say Lara Logan was gang raped, they prefer to call it brutal and sustained sexual assault. She was saved by a group of women and some Egyptian soldiers. Here’s how the story begins:

(CBSNews) On Friday, Feb. 11, the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a “60 Minutes” story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.

  1. Men and women mingled freely unusual for a society where gender segregation in public is still common.. Men who believe women should stay out of the public sphere tend to assume that those seen in the streets are fair game.
